Every day is a day to make a change. However, what are you supposed to do when you can't make a change? What happens if every time you try and get yourself out of a financial hole you were placed in it fails?
Should you go back to school to pursue a higher degree and add more debt? Or should you sit on a park bench and hope for one day you will find a job that pays you for what you paid to receive a college education?
How many days or months or years will go by to find a career? What are you supposed to do while you wait for your life?
Should people not dream anymore?

What happens when your income is less than your basic necessities? What are you supposed to do? Are you supposed to skip breakfast and save money on food? Are you supposed to eat unhealthy because it is cheap? Or are you supposed to eat one meal a day and hope it is sufficient enough to have energy for the work day?
Should you stop paying your health insurance and hope that you never need to go to the hospital? Or should you never go to the doctor and hope your illness goes away? Even for a basic visit to the doctor when you have health insurance still involves some sort of payment. Should you avoid seeing the doctor at all costs in order to provide food for yourself? How long could you prolong medical care until it is required?
Unless you are living in a city with an extensive public transportation system, most people require a car to get back and forth to work. Cars require payments and insurance. Should you sell your car and walk to work? What happens if your job is 45 minutes away by car, how long would it take you to walk there?
While trying to budget your finances, what is the most logical expense that one should give up? Maybe it is those student loans that did not provide opportunities or jobs?

What are you supposed to do when you don't have experience but no company will give you experience?
As a recent graduate, how is it possible to fail before life even begins? Where are the opportunities?
After the dozens and dozens of resumes are sent out, what are you supposed to do next? With a bad economy there are going to be people with more experience than you.

If work is not challenging enough for you, what are you supposed to do? If you are overqualified for your job but can't find another job, what are you supposed to do?
The best employees are those that want to work harder and make a difference. However, if you are bored in your position you are less likely to work hard. You know that you can do your job with your eyes closed, so why not work the bare minimum.
The repetitiveness of jobs hinders the work capability of the employee who is overqualified to begin with. Should the employer provide more advanced opportunities or should the employee accept the work?
In this economy, a job is a job. But if a job jeopardizes your well being, do you still keep that job?

What are you supposed to do if your dream career is no longer in reach?
What happens when you are miserable at work but can't find another job?
Are you supposed to give up because months pass by and there are still no jobs? Are you supposed to stay in a horrible job in order to make some sort of income? Are you supposed to quit and hope to obtain any other job that is a little better?
Happiness is what most people want. If there are no jobs in a field that you love what are your options?

In order to create jobs, businesses either need to be developed or expanded. What are you supposed to do if you want to open up your own business but can't because of student loan debt?
Imagine your business idea will create a large amount of jobs and will be successful but you can't start it because of student loan debt. Not only does that prevent job creation but it also prevents you from making enough money to pay off the student loan debt.
It is a vicious circle but what are you supposed to do?

As I read the newspaper this morning, I ask myself why are the headlines not stating the most important issue right now. Is it because the most important issue is complicated? Is it because those in power don't want to tackle it? Or maybe it is because no one has the courage to fight in a messy battle?
Have people become so robotic that they don't realize that we are all humans? Do they not realize money is only a materialistic piece of paper? If all the paper was gone, what would they have? The ability to state that they were once very greedy.

I ask myself what are you supposed to do when your almost 30, still live at home and cannot move on with your life because of student loan debt?
What happens when you receive a BA, cannot find a job but cannot continue on to get a MA because of student loan debt?
How is it that people that have a BA are working at jobs that don't even require a high school diploma? What is the point of receiving an education?
What will happen to the future generations? Will they not know how to read and write? If college costs keep rising and the younger generation still cannot pay off their debt, there is no way their children will receive a college education. Will there ever be more innovation if there is no education?

What are you supposed to do when your parents tell you that you need to move out but you cannot afford rent due to unnecessary student loan debt?
Imagine coming home one day and being told that your family cannot support your living arrangements anymore. What options are left for those that have student loan debt? Should they move into a homeless shelter and mail all their paychecks to the loan companies? Should they stop paying their loans and put a roof over their head?
How many low wage part time jobs can these people work to provide shelter for themselves? Last I checked sleep is needed in order to survive.

What are you supposed to do when you know the economy is hindered because of student loan debt but no one else realizes it? Maybe they realize it but they choose to ignore it?
In order for the economy to prosper, money needs to flow. It does not take a genius to realize that concept. People with student loan debt are not spending money. They have to worry about the basic necessities rather than meeting friends for dinner or buying a fancy outfit.
What is going to happen when the older generation dies off? The younger generation will move up and not spend a dime because of their student loan debt. What will happen to the economy then?

What are you supposed to do when you hit a wall? What are people supposed to do if their student debt controls their life? Why should they be paying astronomical interest rates?
Imagine the loan companies felt an ounce of what people with student debt feel all the time. Imagine they had to give up their cars and walk to work every day. Imagine they had to eat a loaf of bread for lunch because they could not afford to make a healthy meal. Imagine they had to move back in with their parents. Imagine they were not able to buy necessities in life.
What needs to be done in order for all those with student debt to join together and force change?

What if your diploma does not give you the opportunities that it was supposed to? Should you be able to return your diploma? If your college or university did not live up to the standards that they proclaimed, shouldn't they be responsible for the student loan debt?
Colleges have the responsibility to teach their students. They are supposed to prepare students for the real world. However, is the real world a life full of debt and no job prospects?
Do colleges need to revamp their teaching styles and how they prepare students for the job market?
These recent graduates have invested time and money to study and prepare for a job after college. However, if their degree is not helping them obtain a position that they should be in, what are they supposed to do?
A piece of paper that says that you have a degree is most likely not worth the $250,000 student loan debt. Could they return that nice piece of white paper with black writing for their life back?

I ask myself what should a job seeker do when they have student debt? Should they remain unemployed until they find a position that can pay them high enough to pay their student loans or should they take a minimum wage job and default on their loans?
As I look through the jobs that are available, as of now, there are very few that pay in a medium to high salary range. If there are only a few jobs that would provide enough income to pay student loans, what are recent graduates supposed to do?
Unless there is someone else helping you, everybody needs to work to survive. People require food and a roof over their head in order to make ends meet. It would be the wise decision to just take any job because any job is better than no job; however, now they are left with not being able to afford student debt which will ultimately hinder them when they have to rent an apartment or buy a car.
What are these people supposed to do in order to provide themselves with basic necessities?

The question I ask today is what are people with student debt supposed to do? Are they supposed to work 5 jobs and find a miracle to avoid sleep? Are they supposed to stop paying and actually live a life? Are they supposed to resort to unnecessary and absurd means to keep a roof over their head?
Imagine being told that a college education will help achieve your dreams but learn to find out that your life has hit a wall after graduation. What are you supposed to do to control the economy? Are recent graduates supposed to start up their own company with $150,000 worth of debt in order to jump start the economy?
What happens when the parents of these student loan debt individuals all pass away? Will the children have to figure out how to pay taxes on a house that they cannot afford?
What is next for these young adults who have no future with this debt?
